Claude for professional practice

Claude can support long-form drafting and analysis, but a coherent response can still be incomplete, biased or wrong.

Practice position

AI assists. People decide.

Use approved systems, minimise information, check important output and keep accountable professional judgement human-led.

Match the tool to the work

Claude may be useful for restructuring a long approved document, comparing supplied text, creating alternative explanations and building fictional training material. Its ability to handle length does not make an uploaded document appropriate for processing.

Keep the source visible

For document work, ask for section references, a list of unresolved points and a separation between the source and suggested additions. If the model makes a new claim, treat it as unverified until you locate an authoritative source.

Check current terms

Account types, retention, training use and organisational controls can differ and change. Use current official privacy information, contractual assurance and local approval rather than relying on a generic description of the product.

Practical checklist

  • Check the account type
  • Upload only approved documents
  • Ask for traceable extraction
  • Review omissions and certainty
  • Verify additions independently
